Bangkok, November 13, 2020 – dzcard, the largest smart cards manufacturer in South-East Asia, has obtained the GIM certification from GIM-UEMOA, the Interbank Electronic Banking Group of the Economic and Monetary Union of West Africa. This new collaboration is part of an effort to increase the development of electronic payment systems across the West African region.
The GIM certification will allow dzcard to help modernise the payment systems and drive financial inclusion in West Africa. This certification covers eight countries at the moment, including Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger and Togo.
GIM-UEMOA understands that for financial inclusion to be a success payment systems needs to adopt the latest technologies and standards. With its focus on driving payment innovation in Africa, dzcard is dedicated to helping GIM-UEMOA meet its payment systems modernisation and financial inclusion goals.

About GIM-UEMOA
The GIM-UEMOA* is a regional organization established in 2003 by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) and the Banking Community. As an interbank, non-profit organization, GIM-UEMOA brings together a series of banks spread over Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, and Benin. The goal of the group is to promote the use of bank cards in West Africa.
